List of current prices and fees

Hyre should be a safe and reliable service that offers car sharing at a reasonable price for our renters. The fees and outlay rules below are intended to underpin a safe and reliable platform for our customers. Read our terms and conditions here.

• Rental time prices are automatically calculated per commenced hour, commenced day, etc. Hyre automatically calculates the lowest total price for the renter (e.g. you pay a daily rate as soon as this is cheaper than a high number of hourly rates).
• Insurance is included in the agreement between the Renter and Hyre and applies to registered drivers. For drivers under the age of 23, the insurance price of the rental increases (see overview of surcharges under "Insurance and excess"). The excess in the event of damage is limited to NOK 12,000.
• A reduction in the deductible can be purchased by reserving a car for an extra NOK 125 per day or part thereof. The deductible is then reduced from NOK 12,000 to NOK 2,000.
• Extra drivers can be registered free of charge on rentals. The additional driver must be a registered Hyre user with a verified driving license. Additional drivers under the age of 23 may result in an increased insurance premium, which is calculated based on the age of the youngest driver on the rental.

Fuel

The fuel cost is calculated automatically. We calculate the number of liters in the tank before and after the rental period. If you deliver the car with a lower fuel level than when you picked it up, you will be charged a price per liter that is missing. If you deliver the car with a higher fuel level, you will instead receive a discount per extra liter.

You can see the current fuel prices in the app when you book. If the discount is greater than the total rental price, you'll receive a discount coupon on your Hyre user that you can use at a later date.

Cancellation and changes

We always recommend cancelling as early as possible to avoid friction and fees. Generally, when you cancel, you only pay for the next 24 hours. In practice, this gives the following rules and fees:

• Cancelling earlier than 24 hours before the reservation starts: no fee
• Cancelling less than 24 hours before the reservation starts: Pay for rental time from the start of the reservation until up to 24 hours after cancellation-time (but not more than the full price of the original reservation)
• Cancelling less than 1 hour after ordering the reservation, and before it starts: no fee
• After the start of the reservation: Pay for spent time from the start of the reservation, plus 24 hours (but not more than the full price of the original reservation)

Other fees

• Invoice fee: If charges are not settled by credit card withdrawal, an invoice will be sent out after 7 attempts at credit card withdrawal. An invoice fee of NOK 9 will then be added.
• Fee for re-invoicing: NOK 200. The fee is in addition to the invoice fee and applies, for example, to re-invoicing of parking, fines and other costs that the renter must pay.
• Late return of car after reservation or late extension of rental period: NOK 500 per commenced hour in addition to the extra rental time.
• Incorrect delivery of car: NOK 750 (+ cost of moving the car). If a Renter delivers the car somewhere other than the car's parking space, the Renter will be charged a fee in addition to the cost of moving the car back to its parking space.
• Failure to clean the car: Failure to clean a soiled vehicle will result in a charge of NOK 600, in addition to the cost of washing where necessary.
• Fee for returning a car that smells of smoke: NOK 3000.
• Failure to charge electric car: NOK 600. Upon delivery of an electric car, the Renter must ensure that the car is charging. Failure to charge the car may result in the next user of the car not having their reasonable expectation of the car's range met.
• Failure to report damage: NOK 2500 (+ cost of repair or deductible). In the event of damage to a vehicle, the Renter must contact Hyre immediately. If damage to a vehicle is discovered after a rental period without this being reported, the Renter will be charged a fee in addition to the cost of repair or excess.

Charges for careless handling of the vehicle, including accessories, decoration and other

• Lost or damaged charging cable for electric car: NOK 3000
• Lost or damaged car key: NOK 5000
• Car towed away by the police or municipality: NOK 1350 + the actual cost of impoundment
• Charging a car with a discharged 12V battery if the car is left with the lights on during or after the rental period: NOK 750
• Car has run out of power or fuel: NOK 3,000
• Hyre foil/decoration on car removed: NOK 8 750
