People have long since discovered that car sharing is good for both the wallet and the environment. Now, businesses are following suit. – We're cutting car costs by around 40 percent, says a Bergen-based company about the car-sharing service Hyre.
– It aligns better with our sustainability goals to participate in a shared-use scheme, rather than having our own cars, which are more likely to sit idle when not in use. Overall, there are fewer cars when usage is shared, says Endre Ljones, Director at Norconsult Bergen.

Cutting costs by 40 percent
Norconsult evaluerer nå resultatene fra prøveperioden. Alt tyder på at bildeling er kommet for å bli – for samtlige 250 medarbeidere.

– The response has been very positive. The app is simple and user-friendly. It even works where there’s no coverage and has made our car routine easier and more flexible. For example, you can choose a small, handy car if you're driving alone or a more spacious one if carpooling, says the Norconsult director.
